Obesity is the mother of many serious ailments. It causes major disorders in all the systems of human body. Here are the major consequences which are seen in an obese.

Obesity and Cardio-Vascular System

Generally the level of cholesterol is high in the blood of fat people. This leads to deposition of cholesterol on inner surface of blood vessels. Arteries in case of fat people are also narrowed, this is very serious as these supply blood to the heart. Of the victims, 75% people were having hardened blood vessels due to high cholesterol levels.

Pain in Joints & Bones

Many obese complain of severe pain in the feet which are always under very high weight of their bodies. Fat people also have flat feet. All weight bearing joints are susceptible to pain due to extra weight they carry.
e.g. ankles, hips, spinal chord etc.

Effect on Muscles

All the joints are surrounded by muscles. Muscles lend to support to the joints. Muscles of a fat person are soft and weak. Even when a person is not engaged in any physical activity, some of the fibres of his muscle are contracted.

Besides this, joints of a fat person are stiff and therefore, the fat bodies are less flexible and can't bend their bodies easily. Compared to normal children, fat children are more prone to congenial and acquired deformities of bones and joints.
