Many treatments are being introduced to cure a disease called 'Obesity'. Sauna massage, steam bath are some popular treatments. Experts doubt the result of such treatments but these treatments don't cause any harm. These are basically heat treatments which increase heat in the body. This follows profuse perspiration eventually increasing the basal metabolism rate.

Body parts are given massage for removing excess fat. Does this help? The question is not easy to answer but it certainly doen't cause any harm. The massage should be done by the person himself so that he does some exercise in a way and consumes some extra calories.

Care should be taken to ensure that the flow of blood going towards the heart should be assisted. e.g.While massaging the arm pressure should be applied in the direction from wrist to elbow and not from elbow to wrist. Steam bath also helps in a way as the heat increases the basal metabolism rate which is the main problem in an obese that is responible for the deposition of the excess fat.
